Cedar boxes and moccasins – 8/17/14

Man, I forgot how good the rain smells. Especially when swirled with brown leaves, and a crisp breeze…cedar boxes and leather moccasins and old timey fudge shoppes that leave the front door open even when it’s chilly so you can smell it from the street
. . . . .That’s just an extension of the path my brain took when I smelled the rain
it goes on for a while. . .down around the corner from where thick-cut fries and pizza
stroll hand in hand with the sound of skee ball…
and distant wood smoke where heartbreak and hope share the same sigh…
as the light dims in the nostalgic waffle-cone sunset smile.
