Cumulonimbus – 5/23/03

Moving through the upset sky
larger than the sound of the thunder
that grows within godly form
Messenger of rain blowing the wind
as if tonight was the time for revenge
In vengeance he owed

Growing with color that seems to distract
us with beauty while the distant strike
is reflected in our glazed astonishment
How has it reined over the land for so long?
Like a king who rules from the throne
So as to avoid the flood that weakens his throng

Cumulonimbus, show us your majesty
Like every time before and rise up your billowing physique
carved from invisible wonder, seen with infinite splendor
and created by the one I ask to shelter me from
The Temper in the Sky
