I thought is was over when my eyes found
light from the corner of my window in the afternoon
The sight had been the hammer to my skull after all these years
Was it just a dream, or a vision sent through these tears?
Her hair was the perfect flag on a windy day…
or on the highway
Running still further to find a place to stay
I don’t even remember her name
Is there anything worse? Other than these realities?
Seconds, minutes, TIME?
Could’ve been days for all I knew
and how many loves will die while we dance
and not stop when the morning comes?
Floating and spinning for years in her galaxy eyes
Flying by old songs and past dances…
until our eyes grow tainted and all we see
are the shadows in the desert when we were free
